30 and grateful
Well, today is my 30th birthday and I have decided to stay home from work. As I stand here cooking up some birthday pancakes, I am so grateful that God has blessed me with another year and three decades of life. He has guided me, protected me, provided for me and loved me through my entire journey.
I may not be where I want to be, but when I think about where I use to be and where I could have been, I am grateful I am where I am. All too often we let what we don’t yet have keep us from seeing what we do indeed have. I may not be married, I may not be a mother but I am alive, a child of God, a leader, I have an blessed purpose, a loving man, crazy crew of friends and caring parents. Therefore, I will praise God for what I do have.
As you go through this year, thank God for everything you do have. Don’t get clouded by the enemy’s banner of have nots. Remember that God know what you are in need of and will provide daily for what you will need to get through. Everyone of our steps are ordered by the Lord and he never, NEVER skips a beat.
I am going to praise Him for my birthday and thank Him for His goodness towards me. I will keep a song in my heart and a hallelujah on my lips. He is awesome and faithful. He never fails and I will press on towards my prize! Onward and Upward for my Lord is leading my life.
Happy 30th Birthday to me!

I wish you a very happy birthday and would encourage you more then anything else to stay grounded in God’s Word. At your age I thought I had the world by the tail. I was happily married. I was in church and trying to know His will. I will not bore you with details and how one can be deceived even when they are in the pulpit; but I can say that my life took turns that I did not even know existed. I went places that I had to go alone because God could not go there. Tears are falling as I think back on some of the paths that I chose to follow; but through His infinite mercy and His amazing grace He kept after me and kept calling me when He was in no way obligated to do so. I am happy to say that eventually I recognized the call and returned to Him. I think I had one foot already in hell so words cannot express the love that I feel for the One who saved me. But no matter how much I love Him; it would all have been for nothing if He did not love me. You seem to have an amazing spirit and I pray that nothing will ever distract you from that. Don’t waste years like I did.
Again; Happy birthday. I love how you say the things you say.

Thank you so much landsway! God is indeed faithful. Tears also come down when I think of where I could have been if He wasn’t keeping me under the shelter of His wings. He is the one and ONLY awesome God. Thanks again for the well wishes my brother in Christ!
