Dust it off…
Last night I was beside myself with disappointment. Have you ever told yourself that you’d never do that again and end up doing it? The enemy hovers around you and just pushes and pushes and you fight and fight and then boom – you stumble. That was me last night and I just was so disappointed in myself. I called my hubby and told him about it and he reminded me that it is while I am on the ground that I should lift up a praise to God and seek him.
When we are down, the enemy wants us to beat ourselves up and allow our guilt to keep us from seeking the face of God. He was so bent on having me beat myself silly, he started to tell me “See, that’s why God hasn’t used you the way you want him too.” WHAT A LIAR! The truth is that when we call upon our heavenly Father from our pits God will lift us up and dust us off and set us on our way. What a blessing to know that God knows we are human. What a blessing to know that before we open our mouths to call upon him, he is already there with an out stretched hand. What a blessing to have such a merciful and gracious God.
Once my sweetheart got it through my head that God understands and that he wants me to come to him even in my pits, we prayed together and I spent the rest of the night meditating on God. Needless to say, when I woke up this morning I was at perfect peace. Thank you Jesus! My friends, we serve an awesome, merciful, powerful, amazing, GREAT God. He is always there ready to pick us up and dust us off. Hallelujah! I am not perfect and I know that I will sometimes fall, but it is good to know that I have someone there to catch me when I fall.
Today, be encouraged by this. Know that God has always and will always have your back. No matter how low you believe you have fallen, remember that God is reaching out to you. He is the ultimate shepherd who will go through all terrains, to draw just one stray sheep. What a God!
Memory Text:
But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and a show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may b pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! -2 Cor. 12:9. (Amplified Version)
Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank you for being such a merciful forgiving God. Help me to always call upon you no matter where I find myself. Thank you for your out stretched hand.

In reading this post, it reminded me of the passage of scripture I was reading on last night. In Psalm 107, the people found themselves in all manner of situations and some due to there own doing but when they cried out “Lord, help”, he rescued them from their distress. Grateful that he doesn’t turn his back on me!
