Rest In God’s Hands
Today as I prepare for a weekend getaway, I think about the importance of relaxation. In the beginning of time, God set an example for us by resting from all of His work. Unfortunately, we are living in a time where work, work, work is the mantra of life. We are so busy that we barely find the time to breathe. Our children barely see us, no one is ever home early enough to have a family dinner. We are so preoccupied with getting and doing that we have no time to just enjoy life.
Last Saturday, the hubby and I took some time to go to my favorite place. As we strolled around the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, I remember telling Kenton how amazing it is that God made all of these beauties just for us. The rose garden was filled with roses of every color imaginable. How awesome is our God. In just one creation, he took the time to detail them all in their own unique way. If my God can take the time to detail roses, he surely can care for every detail in my life.
I don’t know what you may be going through today, but remember that this same God is the author and finisher of your faith. He is concerned about every aspect of your life. Whatever you may be challenged with, put it all in Gods hands and he will take good care of you. This memorial weekend, take some time to rest all your cares in God’s hands.
Memory Text
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. -Matthew 11:28-30
Prayer Prompt
Lord, thank you for reminding me to rest in you. Help me to take some time to enjoy the life that you died for me to have.
