Push through the storm
It was Wednesday evening and I was attending a meeting at a friend’s house. Suddenly, I felt a push to check my cell phone. When I did, I had eight missed calls from my aunt and mom. Oh no! I said to myself. Right then and there I knew something was wrong. I picked hit the call button returned my mother’s call.
Dad is in the ER… Gasp!
As I headed to the hospital. I said to myself “when will I get a break”. I have been in and out of the hospital so many times this year that I could practically get around blindfolded. Why was this happening? Doesn’t God see that I am crumbling underneath the pressure? I need a break! I had had enough. I wanted out. Then in the midst of my rant, I felt an overwhelming peace and I know without a doubt that it came from God. Sometimes God may not necessarily take you out of the situation, but he will surely give you the peace of mind to get through it and at that moment, that is exactly what I needed. I needed peace and he gave it to me.
When life’s trials and test come your way, don’t just ask God to take it away but ask him for the strength and peace to push through the storm. The Bible tells us that these storms have come to give us strength and work patience within us. (there goes that patience word again!) God promises never to give us more than we can bear. So, let’s trust him to see us through and complete his perfect work in us.
Today as I sit by my Father’s bedside, this is the hope that I hold dear and I extend this same hope to you.
God will finish what he started so just PUSH THROUGH THE STORM
So, how’s my dad doing? Let’s put it this way. He is coaching the England soccer team from his bed. Lolll
God does have a sense of humor. Thank you Lord for your peace!
Memory Text

Lord, please help me to keep my eyes on you and give me the peace that will help me through my current circumstance. I place my trust in you and I know that you are guiding me through it all.
