He just can’t help himself…
Yes, yes we’re back! It’s been a long time since I’ve written a new devotion and during our hiatus, God has more than just been good to me. As the end of the year draws nigh, I contemplate on his faithfulness. How amazing is it that while millions have lost their jobs, God has kept me employed and has even opened opportunities that I never imagined would come my way. This year my dad went through surgery and was admitted to the hospital more times than you can imagine, but today he is on his two feet and I am grateful to still have him in my life. Despite the difficulties I’ve experienced this year, one thing remained constant. Through it all, God never once left me alone. He always made HIS presence known.
Sometimes I felt like giving up and thought that God had forgotten all about me. I cried out to him so many times and didn’t always hear anything back. Where is he? I often asked. But, in the midst of my pain, in the midst of the silence, I felt an overwhelming peace. God was always there. I may not have seen him, or felt his touch, but he was working in my favor and before I could throw my hands up in the air and give in, God showed up right on time.
How amazing to know that amongst all of the people in the world that desperately need Him, God finds a way to be present in our circumstances no matter how small. He hears our every cry and dispatches His angels before we even have the sense to CALL ON HIM. This year I have experienced the hand of God on my life like never before.
What would have killed someone else, I was able to overcome through the faithfulness of God.
As the year draws to a close, have you taken out the time to review your year. How faithful has God been to you?
2011 is fast approaching and I am already claiming a victorious year because I am going in with the same God who brought me through 2010. I pray that as we prepare to celebrate Christmas and the New Year, we will remember to thank God for his Greatest Gift – Jesus and His Faithfulness in our lives. We could have been dead, but he saw fit to allow us to live again and again. He just can’t help but to love us. Thank you Jesus for another chance to walk this journey with you!
Memory Text:
God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? – Numbers 23:19
Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank you for being by my side. Forgive me for not giving you the honor you are due. Help me to always call upon you no matter how trying the circumstance. I know that you have a plan for my life and I trust that you will always remain faithful to me.
