Roll with the punches
As I walked out of my house this morning, I was greeted with a beautiful view. It was snowing again probably for the fourth time in two weeks. Though it could get a little annoying, I couldn’t help but to smile at how beautiful it looked on the trees. The bare tree branches were covered in white and it was simply breath-taking. The evergreens were covered with a blanket of white. It was simply beautiful. It’s Friday! I thought to myself. I had made it through another week. I remember how difficult the week started off to be, but today I can say God got me through it. He got me through the tears, the stress, disappointments and the pain. He helped me to roll with the punches and to come out as more than a conqueror.
Sometimes we need to be reminded of how much God loves us. When I think of all the trials that the early Christians, Apostles, Prophets, Patriarchs, etc. went through in their walk with God, I can’t help but to think that I need to just stop whining and trust God to get me through my tests. From Abraham to the Apostle John, not one person who decided to follow God’s will had it easy. They were tested and tested and tried and tested, but they all came out victorious. God never forgot about them. God was always there. I still believe that God is still here. He is here when we have our fights with our children. He is here when all is not bliss in our marriages. He is here when our friends betray us and he is here when our jobs hand us our pink slips. God is, was and always will be here. The Bible reminds us that:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. – Hebrews 13:8 (NLT)
God doesn’t change! He can change your situation, he can change your life, but the fact that he is the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God DOES NOT CHANGE! Therefore, what have we to fear? The psalmist reminds us:
Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. – Psalm 91:7 (NLT)
God promises to be with us throughout our journey. All that he is asking of us is that we trust him and walk with him. Today let us remember to roll with the punches knowing that God will get us through this fight victorious. Remember, the war is already won. Any remaining battles – belong to God!
Memory Text:
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. – 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT)
Prayer Prompt
Lord, help me to remember that you are with me on this journey. Teach me to trust you to get me to the finish line…
