So, why did God create man (us)?
God created man to worship him and to enjoy his handiwork. Man was created in the image of God on the sixth day out of the dust of the earth. (Genesis 1:26) God breathed into our nostrils the breath of life and it is this breath of life that allows us to live each day. God first created “Man” and then created “Woman” when he felt that man needed a suitable helper. (Genesis 2:18) He then commanded that we be fruitful and multiply. (Genesis 1:28) Sin then came into the world when the woman “Eve” ate of the forbidden fruit. This has caused man to be cast away from the creator. <Genesis 3:1-23) Because God loves us so much, he sent his son to die on the cross so that we may be redeemed from sin. (John 3:16) This redemption is up to us to accept. God has given every man freedom of will and it is our choice to follow him or to reject him. God will never force himself upon us. He desires our voluntary love and not a love given out of oppression or fear.
