The Prayer of Faith
As Christians, it should be our goal to get to the point where we can pray to God for our children, husbands, boyfriends, parents and acquaintances and know without a shadow of a doubt that God is and will work things out in our favor. My prayer today is that we all will learn how to come to the Father with our prayers and have the Faith that will move him to action.
Lord willing
Tonight’s meditation is taken from James chapter 4: 13 – 17 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears [...]
Watch your mouth!
I remember those days where I was quick at the mouth. You said the wrong thing to Ms. Rachel and brimstone would fall upon you. It didn’t matter who you were, you’d be put in your place. Now when I look at myself and see how calm tempered I’ve become, I can’t help but to praise God.
Because God Made Them..
Today’s devotion stems from James 2:1-4. In this scripture, Paul brings up an important point. My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don’t show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special [...]
Pure Religion
This morning while on my way to work, I asked my mother whether she had called Sister Dennis. 2 weeks ago, we were informed that she was involved in a near death accident and my jaw dropped. It caught my attention because Sister Dennis was the only adult who gave me a ring whenever she [...]
Because He saw ME…
How awesome is our God! As you go throughout the week, remember that the Easter message is not a weekend celebration, it is a lifetime commemoration. Everytime you wake up in the morning, remember that it was Jesus’ willing ness to stay on the cross that allows you to take another breath.
The Road to the Cross – Crucify Him
What manner of love would offer up himself to die for a sinner like me when I was yet born?
The Road to the Cross – A Final Meal
It was over 2,000 years ago today that Jesus and the disciples participated in what we now recognize as the last supper. As I read this text, I imagine how Jesus must have felt to know that Judas would betray him and deliver him to his enemies. He must have been saddened to know that he would part ways with the men who had been faithfully following him in these 3 short years. Now his time had come and the fulfillment of his purpose drew nigh.
Road to the Cross – Lesson from Judas
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests. And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him – Matthew 24: 14-16 (KJV) For 3 years [...]
Road to the Cross – Cleansing the Temple
Can you picture every vendor running from Jesus like kids running from a beating? Every time I do, I just burst out laughing. Though the thought of it may bring a chuckle or two, it was a serious matter.
Road to the Cross…
This weekend we commemorated the life of Jesus Christ during our Palm Sunday afternoon program. On Saturday evening, the hubby and I took some time out to watch the Gospel of John and I was impressed to watch how Jesus ministered boldly without any reservations to the people of his day. The King that the [...]
Go with God
We have the most adorable little lady who works as our office cleaning lady. She is so peppy and happy all the time. Maria has a great spirit and always tells me Vaya Con Dios when I leave the office. As I left last night, I realized that she was right. Living in a world [...]
What’s on your door?
One Saturday morning as we were headed to a Women’s Day of Prayer program @ Hebron, we passed a brownstone that had enough signs to draw anyone’s attention. “Keep Off!”, “No Solicitation!”, “Curb your dog!”, “No Trespassing!” and it ended with a handwritten note posted to the gate. I remember telling hubby, Could this house [...]
I am so MAD at YOU
Easter is coming and as churches prepare for the big day and Christians around the world partake in lent, I find myself a wee bit frustrated. Though I am suppose to be reflecting on the great sacrifice Jesus made for me, I AM MAD @ God. GASP, did she just say that? Isn’t that a [...]
Shocked? Why?!
There’s gotta be a spare umbrella here somewhere. That’s what you’ll usually catch me saying when it’s pouring out and I didn’t expect it to (which is 90% of the time). You may be wondering well why don’t you watch the news for the weather right? Well, I and the news are not the best [...]
